Design
Plasson Mechanical Compression Fittings are designed to withstand working pressures of up to 16 bar, and also include valves which allow the regulation of flow.
Description
Plasson Mechanical Compression PP fittings offer solutions for connecting PE pipes, used for conveying water and other fluids in urban and inter-urban infrastructure, industrial, mining, landscape and farming applications and for carrying communication lines.
Body Material
Polypropylene, high-grade copolymer.
Product Components
1 Split Ring, 1 Adaptor, 1 Nut
Split Ring Material
Polyacetal
Nut Material
Polypropylene, high-grade copolymer.
Chemical Resistance
Plasson Mechanical Compression Fittings are supplied as standards, with polyacetal split rings and NBR O-rings which are suitable for water. For aggressive chemical applications CPVC split rings and EPDM or FPM O-rings can be supplied to produce a better chemical resistance.
Installation Notes
Make sure not to over tighten nut when closing. Never use wrenches or spanners with handle lengths longer than 46 cm – excessive torque during tightening can spread nut cone and result in pull outs. If fittings are reused, ensure split ring is sharp and bites into pipe to avoid pull outs. Alternatively replace split ring.
Note
We strongly recommend the use of PTEE tape in threaded connections.
