Design
Fittings are rated PN 16 (with a few exceptions). For use at elevated temperatures, please consult local standards and regulations. For use with fluids other than water, please check with your local Plasson representative.
Description
Plasson's compression fittings and valves connect PE pipe to PE, steel, copper, PVC, PP and PB pipe. They are used for conveying water and other fluids in the municipal and rural sectors, mining, industry, agriculture and used to protect communication lines from water.
Body Material
Polypropylene, high-grade copolymer.
Product Components
2 O-Rings, 2 Nuts
O Ring Material
NBR
Nut Material
Polypropylene, high-grade copolymer.
Chemical Resistance
Polyacetal split rings and NBR o-rings, suitable for water, are supplied as standard. CPVC split rings and EPDM or FPM o-rings and seals are available. For aggressive chemical applications, the end user is advised to test suitability.
Operating Temperatures
Maximum temperature of use for fittings and valves is the same as that for polyethylene pipe and they are not intended for use in hot water applications. They will withstand sub-zero temperatures.
Installation Notes
Excessive torque during tightening can cause nut deformation and result in joint failure; therefore use a Plasson wrench or other spanner with handle length not greater than 46 cm. If fittings are reused, avoid pull outs by ensuring the split ring is sharp and bites into the pipe. Alternatively replace split ring.
Note
PTFE tape is strongly recommended in threaded joints.
