PLASSON FITTINGS FOR MINING

BEST UNDER PRESSURE

When you are working in a high pressure environment, you need a name you can count on to supply your pipe fittings.  When miners say "pass me a Plasson", they are asking for a range of fittings which have been used continuously since poly pipe was first introduced into Australian mines 30 years ago.

You'll be pleased to know that Plasson still has the safest and most reliable fittings on the market - and the only ones listed with a Standardsmark licence to PN16 (1600kPa for water and 1250 kPa for air) for sizes up to 125mm.

Below are some examples of innovative solutions for mining applications:

Plasson 110mm by 63mm reducing sets

Available in kit or assembled form - the reducing set allows reductions from 110mm to 63mm without the need for victaulic or threaded reducers.  The reduction is achieved within the nut of the 110mm compression coupling and has the same pressure rating as the fitting - PN16.  The reducers can be purchased assembled to produce:

  • 110 by 63 reducing tees
  • 110 by 63 reducing coupling
  • AS4087 PN16 DN100 (table D) Flanged reducing coupling to 63mm poly

or as a seperate kit to be installed into existing 110mm Plasson compressing fittings.

Reducing sets are available in sizes 20mm - 110m, making a reduction of 110mm to 20mm possible within the length of the 110mm Plasson nut.

Plasson - Beware of Imitations!

There is only one fitting used and proven in the Australian mining industry for over 30 years - Plasson.  So when you specify Plasson fittings for your mining requirements ensure you are getting the brand you asked for.  Plasson fittings will always:

  • Have the Plasson brand on the body and nuts of the fitting
  • Be supplied with black nuts (Plasson fittings with white nuts are designed for European conditions and are not suitable for use in Australian conditions).
